Welcome to the Stroke Webinar 2021, held by Brain Injury Hawke’s Bay and supported by AUT.

Join internationally and nationally recognised Researcher and Lecturer Professor Valery Feigin and Dr Rita Krishnamurthi for this half day online workshop that will provide four sessions on Stroke Education, Prevention and an emphasis on Dementia as it is related to Stroke.

Workshop Fees: $45 inc. GST

Each session will run for 40 - 60 minutes with question time following the session, with short screen breaks during the workshop.

The sessions will focus on:

Myths and facts about stroke

Stroke consequences - An emphasis on dementia

Stroke knowledge and awareness:

  • How much do people know about stroke, in NZ and internationally

  • Can awareness make a difference?

  • What can be done to improve awareness?

Stroke prevention:

  • How preventable is stroke, what factors can increase or reduce risk?

  • How can we assess stroke risk?

  • What tools and methods can reduce risk of stroke?

This workshop is sure to be educational, inspirational and a practical addition to professional development.

The Workshop will be hosted online via Zoom which will allow participants to attend from across New Zealand without the additional burden of travel expenses.
