Liaison Services
We provide a service that is specialised in supporting those with Brain Injury, their family/whanau and the wider community to navigate the rehabilitation journey and beyond. To promote and encourage independence and ownership of the person’s journey following Brain Injury through support, advocacy and providing information on opportunities for those with Brain Injury and their whanau to participate in peer support, receive information and to create links to the community.
What we do
Our service is designed to meet the needs of those who find themselves in need due to the adverse circumstances that can arise following a Brain Injury. This may be the individual, family/whanau or the wider community.
Provide advice and assistance to access entitlements and rehabilitation supports, this could be with ACC, Work and Income or Rehabilitation Providers
To provide advocacy where required, with a focus on mediation where possible and in a way that maintains the lines of communication for the service user and agency.
Provide information, strategies and education on Brain Injury
Support to access Social Activites in the community
Provide information on appropriate organisations and rehabilitation providers and support to access these services
Provide a registered Social Worker and Community Liaison to assist you
To support organisations to work with those with Brain Injury so they have an inclusive and positive experience with providers and agencies
To provide education and awareness activities so the community will have a greater awareness of Brain Injury and the impacts of this on the individual, family/whanau and the wider community
Our service is provided across Hawke’s Bay and Central Hawke’s Bay, the office is based in Hastings.
